What is the São Paulo Invoice?

This is a program created by Sao Paulo's State Government and also idealized by Secretary of Finance with the aim of encouraging consumers to ask for the invoice in any purchase of products and services, so that in this way it can make it difficult for the commercial establishments.

The program established that for each purchase made with CPF, the consumer will receive 5% to 30% of the tax on circulation of products and services (ICMS).

See how it works according to the rules established by the Secretary of Finance of the State of São Paulo, below:

– With each purchase, whether of a product or a service, the citizen must inform the CPF or CNPJ on the invoice, in addition, it is necessary to ask for the tax coupon/invoice or even the electronic invoice.

– The commercial establishment will be responsible for registering the product sold in the CPF or CNPJ of its Customer.

– In this way, after the ICMS payment is made, the Treasury Department will credit the percentage that is the buyer's right for the purchase of its products or services.

– Thus, the credit will be available for the consumer to use in up to 5 years, either in the IPVA or when receiving the amount in their checking account.
