What is the DETRAN car auction?
The DETRAN auction is an event that takes place every year, where seized cars are sold for a cheaper price.
However, it must be made clear that auctioned cars are mostly irregular. In this way, the new owner must regulate the vehicle in order to use it.
Every year, these cars seized by the Federal Police are removed from the DETRAN yard so that they can be acquired by new owners.
But when the vehicle is seized, it stays in the courtyard for about 90 days and during this period of time the owner must regularize the situation, either because he has overdue documents or due to the behavior of the former owner, such as fines and debts.
If the former owner is unable to recover the car, then the car becomes the property of the public body and goes to auction.
These vehicles are usually auctioned in lots and may be auctioned on scheduled days and times.
In addition, the auctioned cars are on display in the DETRAN courtyard divided into lots. Interested parties can visit them and check their conditions.
How to participate in the DETRAN auction?
First, you need to register in advance on the website. DMV, even for individuals or legal entities, informing the CNPJ or CPF.
During the auction, the highest bidder takes the car. However, proof of purchase must be signed after buying the car. You also need to pay cash at least 30% of the given bid amount.
It is also possible to participate in the auction virtually, on virtual auction sites, but it is necessary to pay a bank slip after the purchase.
To remove the car, the auction price must be paid and then the new owners have up to 30 days to withdraw. And if there is a delay in payment, 2% is charged from the value of the vehicle.
To participate, in addition to registering in advance, you must be aware of the dates when these events will take place and have a good amount of money saved to be able to place the highest bids.
